Elemental — A Poem about Ancient Elements

the lazy hot dragon’s breath
of August drags and drifts
loose bits of dirt and dust
to parch the ground and land
sparking wicked wild fires
reducing whole forests to ash
such that rains can’t squelch
only rivers and seas can breaks
